I am a professional conference interpreter working with German, English and French.
And here is where I come in. With an excellent understanding of the relevant languages and cultures, being reliable and competent, my focus is on getting your message across and ensuring that your event runs smoothly.
How does it work? Depending on your specific requirements, different conference interpreting modes are available to you.
Simultaneous Interpreting
In simultaneous interpreting, interpreters typically work from a booth and in a team of two, alternating every 30 minutes. The spoken words are interpreted “simultaneously” (in real time) and reach the audience over a headset. This interpreting mode is suitable for symposiums, congresses, audits, focus groups, and so on. If the interpreter needs to be mobile (e.g. during a factory visit or on-site training), it is possible to use a portable “tour guide” system.
Consecutive Interpreting
In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter takes notes during a speech. When the speaker pauses, typically every 5 to 10 minutes, the interpreter renders the corresponding speech section in the target language. This interpreting mode is suitable for (festive) speeches and interviews. During negotiations, short consecutive or liaison interpreting involves interpreting at shorter intervals, consecutively in both directions, enabling both parties to speak in turn and keep the conversation flowing.
Remote Interpreting
In remote interpreting, an interpreting platform is used to connect participants and interpreters. Usually in simultaneous mode, it can take place regardless of location.

I was born and raised in Germany and spent six years working and studying in the UK. Since 2012 I have been living in France. Following completion of my university studies in conference interpreting, I regularly take part in continual professional development courses. In every assignment, I consider intensive preparation and conscientious delivery as vital.
Being based in Lyon, in the heart of France, I’m happy to work anywhere within Europe. Should you require interpretation for a multilingual event, I also have access to a network of qualified colleagues and am happy to organise a team of experienced interpreters for you.
It goes without saying that confidentiality is key. I can provide references upon request. As a full member of the following professional bodies (SFT – Société française des traducteurs, CioL – Chartered Institute of Linguists, BDÜ/VKD – Verband der Konferenzdolmetscher im BDÜ), I also adhere to their code of conduct.
